Beyoncé is officially a billionaire, Forbes says
Historic tours, award-winning albums, and strategic business deals push the global icon past the billion-dollar mark

Beyoncé has officially crossed into billionaire territory, according to Forbes, cementing her status not only as a global cultural force but also as one of the wealthiest figures in music history.
With this milestone, Beyoncé becomes the fifth musician to reach a 10-figure fortune, joining an exclusive circle that includes Taylor Swift, Rihanna, Bruce Springsteen, and her husband, Jay-Z. Forbes places Jay-Z’s personal net worth at an estimated $2.5 billion (£1.85 billion), making the power couple one of the most financially dominant partnerships in entertainment.
Just earlier this month, Forbes had valued Beyoncé’s fortune at approximately $800 million (£593 million), forecasting that she was on track to surpass the billion-dollar mark after years of sustained commercial and artistic success. That prediction has now become reality.
A major driver behind her financial leap was the monumental success of her 2023 Renaissance World Tour, which generated close to $600 million in revenue. The tour further solidified Beyoncé’s standing alongside artists like Taylor Swift as one of the most influential and lucrative pop performers of the modern era.
Capitalizing on the tour’s momentum, Beyoncé also produced a concert film documenting the performances. It marked her first solo tour in seven years and was released through a direct distribution agreement with AMC Theatres. Under the terms of the deal, Beyoncé reportedly retained nearly half of the film’s $44 million (£33 million) global box office earnings.
In 2024, Beyoncé released Cowboy Carter, an album that both honored and reframed the Black roots of country music. The project was widely praised by critics and ultimately earned Album of the Year at the Grammy Awards — a historic win that marked the first time she had secured the prestigious honor, despite being nominated four previous times.
According to Forbes, the Cowboy Carter tour proved to be another financial juggernaut. Featuring guest appearances from Jay-Z, two of the couple’s three children, and Beyoncé’s former Destiny’s Child bandmates, the tour reportedly brought in more than $400 million in ticket sales. Merchandise sales at the shows added an additional estimated $50 million.
While the tour shattered attendance and revenue records at venues such as London’s Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and Paris’s Stade de France, it was not without challenges. Some shows experienced slower-than-expected ticket sales, prompting promoters to reduce prices in an effort to fill remaining seats.
Despite those hurdles, the tour still commanded some of the highest ticket prices in the UK for 2025. The most expensive seats reached £950, while the lowest-priced tickets were listed at £71.
Beyond touring and music sales, Beyoncé also boosted her earnings through high-profile media appearances and brand partnerships. Forbes reports that her special halftime performance for Netflix’s first-ever Christmas Day NFL game generated an estimated $50 million. Additionally, a series of Levi’s commercials brought in roughly $10 million.
Meanwhile, Bloomberg, which maintains its own billionaire rankings, has included Selena Gomez among its list of billionaire musicians, citing a reported net worth of $1.3 billion (£962 million) in 2024. Forbes, however, disputes that assessment, estimating Gomez’s wealth to be closer to $700 million (£518 million).
With her billion-dollar milestone now confirmed, Beyoncé’s influence — artistic, cultural, and financial — continues to expand, reinforcing her place at the very top of the global entertainment industry.
