New York Hospital Network Subpoenaed Over Trans Youth Healthcare Records.
Federal prosecutors seek patient and provider information as the Trump administration intensifies its crackdown on gender-affirming care for minors

Federal prosecutors in Texas have issued a subpoena to New York’s major hospital network, NYU Langone Health, seeking records connected to transgender youth who received gender-affirming medical care between 2020 and 2026.
The subpoena, sent on May 7 by the US attorney’s office for the northern district of Texas, reportedly requests information related to minor patients, along with the identities of healthcare providers and staff involved in delivering that care. NYU Langone confirmed it was among several medical institutions targeted by similar requests.
In a public statement, the hospital system acknowledged growing concern among patients and medical professionals, emphasizing that it is reviewing how to respond while continuing to take patient privacy protections seriously.
Under New York’s shield law, the hospital must attempt to notify affected patients and medical personnel at least 30 days before releasing any protected information. State law also requires notification of the attorney general’s office.
The subpoena marks another escalation in the Trump administration’s broader effort to monitor and restrict gender-affirming healthcare for minors nationwide. Earlier in 2025, President Donald Trump signed an executive order aimed at limiting access to such care for transgender youth. The order directed federally funded medical institutions to halt what it described as “chemical and surgical mutilation” of children. LGBTQ advocacy groups quickly challenged the policy in court, and litigation remains ongoing.
Following the executive order, NYU Langone Health began canceling appointments for new transgender youth patients as it moved to comply with the federal directive. Activists and advocacy organizations later pressured the hospital to restore services.
By February 2026, the hospital formally shut down its transgender youth healthcare program. At the time, spokesperson Steve Ritea said the decision was influenced by the departure of the program’s medical director and what he described as an increasingly difficult regulatory environment.
Across the country, transgender patients and their families have reported confusion and disruption after appointments were canceled or programs scaled back. Many were forced to search for new healthcare providers in different cities or states, adding new financial and emotional burdens to families already navigating complex medical systems.
Civil rights advocates warn that marginalized communities are being hit hardest. American Civil Liberties Union attorney Harper Seldin previously noted that access to healthcare is already challenging for many families, particularly children of color and patients relying on state-funded insurance programs.
Medical studies continue to show that gender-affirming treatments, including hormone therapy and puberty blockers, can significantly improve mental health outcomes for transgender youth. A 2022 report from Seattle Children’s found that transgender and non-binary young people receiving gender-affirming care reported lower rates of depression, suicidal thoughts, and self-harm after one year of treatment.
Neither the Department of Justice nor NYU Langone Health immediately provided additional comment regarding the subpoena.

So, what is the point of having protected patient information, especially for our children if an administration led by a pedo, backed by fake ass zealots can just demand it.
Texas should worry about texas. Just build a wall around Texas already. WTF
