New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani criticized Michigan Rep. Haley Stevens for endorsing Republican Senate candidate Mike Rogers, saying she “betrayed” working-class people in doing so.
“Working-class people’s lives are on the ballot on Tuesday — their healthcare, their rent, their bills,” Mamdani posted on X, responding to Stevens’ video endorsement.
“Haley Stevens just betrayed them by endorsing the very Republican she said she wanted to run against,” he wrote.
Brad Lander, the Democratic nominee for New York’s 10th Congressional District and ally of Mamdani, also rebuked Stevens’ endorsement.
“I didn’t think it was possible to combine primary-loser-sour-grapes & Islamophobia into a more toxic cocktail than Andrew Cuomo. But Haley Stevens has managed to do it,” Lander posted on X.
“If she wants to betray civil rights, reproductive freedom, immigrant protections, and working families by endorsing Mike Rogers and trying to give control of the Senate to J.D. Vance and Donald Trump, I guess that’s her business — but it’s appalling, oddly patronizing, and simply false to claim that it’s in the interest of Michigan’s Jewish communities,” Lander, a self-described liberal Zionist, wrote.

It's all about a bruised ego, her ego destroyed her career. She should have stayed silent and not endorsed anyone
Too late to "primary" her this cycle - but plenty of time to prepare for the next election. Maybe she and Fetterman can form a new party.
