NY City is one of the most expensive cities in the country. Affordability with solutions was an no-brainer platform to run on. Interestingly, this platform worked for Republicans the last election. Why Zohran didnt win by 30% is a better question.

I would not read too much into tiday's wins because it's the East Coast, and Cuomo and Earle-Sears were terribly flawed candidates. They were so bad that Trump didnt even support Cuomo until last night, and he never supported Earle-Sears.

That said, Zohran and Spanberger were good candidates and ran flawlesss campaigns. The latter was excellent. She had a record to stand on. Virginia is for lovers and moderate. I've worked a few campaigns there. It's a great state with wonderful people.

Spanberger spoke for women and the working class. She was the easy choice for VA. Earle-Sears likely won women... with no college education and like to hunt with an AR. That's a very small subset of women... And they often dont vote.

Interestingly, according to an exit poll, about half the New Yorkers do not agree with Socialism. The question should have asked about "Democratic Socialism," which is capitalism, but that's not the wedge issue the pollster and media source wanted to drive. If half the people in New York City fall for the Socialism line, I doubt the crucial swing-states in the Midwest would be more favorable.

The truth of the matter is that the socialism question is about general ideology, not specific policy. When policy* questions are asked, people are more supportive of democratic socialism. People should watch for questions about ideology because it is probably an answer looking for a question. For example, most people favor the ideology of Christianity. Sure, but what percentage support the words and actions of Jesus today? Ideology means little in reality.

I said it before, and nobody got it, so I will say it again... Smart New Yorkers know You Don't Mess With The Zohran!
